Can I dive if I don’t have a diving ticket?

Yes! A one day trial diving experience known as discover scuba will let you experience the under water world with a professional PADI dive instructor guiding you through every step.

If you enjoy your discover scuba dive, or know that you want to learn to dive, we can teach you your PADI open water dive ticket here at Dive North.

 

What is the temperature?

During summer the water is 18-22 degrees Celsius and winter drops to around 14. We wear prodive 5-7mm wetsuits 2008 new keeping us comfortable at all times.

 

What level diver do I need to be to dive the Rainbow Warrior?

The average depth on the Rainbow Warrior is below 18m, it is recommended that you are at least an advanced level diver or have 15 dives or more and have dived within the last six months.

If you have less then 15 dives or haven’t dived in a while, our staff can at their discretion test your diving ability first before allowing the dive on the Rainbow Warrior.

 

If I am not able to dive the Rainbow Warrior, can I still dive that day?

Yes! If you are not experienced enough to dive the Rainbow Warrior, or just don’t want to dive that deep, we are flexible enough to cater the trip so that you are able to dive one of the other beautiful locations around the Cavalli Islands.

 

What do I need to bring?

Bring a towel, a warm jacket and your certification card or log book. Don’t forget your smile

 

Do I get lunch?

Yes! All trips on the boat include a prepared lunch and choice of hot drinks.

 

I’m a vegetarian, do I need to bring my own lunch?

No! Vegetarian or allergies, just let us know in advance of your needs and we will cater for you the best we can.

 

I’m catching a bus, what time do we get back to Paihia?

We aim to be back in Paihia by 3:30pm at the latest. If you have a schedule to keep please let us know in the morning.

 

Where can I stay?

Paihia has many places to stay with somewhere for every occasion and budget. We can recommend a number of places with great rates and a friendly atmosphere.

 

Is it worth coming to the Bay of Islands?

Most definitely! The Bay of Islands has so much to offer. In between the diving you can take in the surroundings, book trips to the tip of the North Island, a day out sailing and seeing the dolphins, fishing charters and tours through Waitangi learning the history.
